Kazakhstan to Chair Key International Organizations in 2024

ASTANA: Kazakhstan is set to chair several prominent international organizations in 2024, including the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Organization of Turkic States, the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the International Fund for Aral Sea, and Islamic Organization for Food Security.

Aidar Kurmashev, the head of the Asian Studies Department at the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies, emphasized the nation’s increased contribution to fostering regional and global peace and prosperity through these leadership roles.

Kazakhstan’s foreign policy, characterized by consistency, balance, and a commitment to peace, has earned international trust and support for its initiatives.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted the importance of regional cooperation, especially in Central Asia, and expressed a commitment to deepening strategic partnerships.

Kazakhstan aims to strengthen regional initiatives and cooperation among Central Asian countries, positioning itself as a focal point for constructive dialogue and hosting significant events, such as the Astana International Forum, One Water Summit, and the Central Asian Forum on Security and Cooperation.
