Kazakhstan President Rewards Athletes, Coaches on High Achievements at Olympics

ASTANA: On the orders of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev a group of athletes and coaches of the Kazakhstani national team have been presented with state awards for high accomplishments during the Paris Olympics.

According to Akorda Presidential Palace Yeldos Smetov, who won the first-ever Olympic judo gold medal in the history of Kazakhstan at the 2024 Paris Games, was presented with the Barys Order of Class One.

While Yuri Melnichenko, a coach at the Sports Promotion Directorate of the Sports and Physical Culture Committee of the Tourism and Sports Ministry of Kazakhstan, received the Barys Order of Class Three.

The Parasat Order was given to Askar Yerkebayev, Alexander Kim, Boranbek Konyratov, Demeu Zhadrayev, Galymzhan Dzhilgeldiyev, Nariman Kurbanov, Khussanzhan Kurbanov, Nurbek Oralbay, Nurbol Suleimenov and Gusman Kyrgyzbayev.

Almaz Alssenov, Alexandra Le, Dolkunzhan Kamekov, Gennady Nassonov, Nazym Kyzaibay, Yermek Nassiyev, Islam Satpayev, and Veronika Skiba received the Qurmet Order.

Head coach of the country’s shooting team Olga Dovgun and assistant to the President of the International Judo Federation Askhat Zhitkeyev received letters of appreciation.
