ASTANA: Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on Thursday extended his congratulations to Azerbaijani Head of State Ilham Aliyev on winning the bid to host the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in 2024.
In his congratulatory letter, Kassym-Jomart told Ilham Aliyev that this decision is the clear evidence of your country’s high authority at the global arena, recognition of the progressive and effective policy of Azerbaijan and its commitment to the international climate agenda.
Kassym-Jomart said that he was convinced that the holding of this large-scale forum in beautiful Baku will considerably contribute to the promotion of the SDGs, help address the most pressing problems of today, attract the attention of the global community to the regional environmental issues as well.
Kazakhstan reassures support
The Kazakh Head of State reassured his Azerbaijani counterpart that Astana is ready to provide all-round support and take an active part for successful and productive conference of COP29.
