SRINAGAR, Occupied Kashmir: Posters recently surfaced in Indian illegally-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, vehemently opposing India’s Hindutva-centric policies within the region.

As reported by Kashmir Media Service, various Hurriyat organizations prominently displayed these posters across different areas, urging the international community to take concrete actions toward resolving the Kashmir dispute in alignment with the pertinent United Nations Security Council resolutions.

Some of these posters underscored the significance of the January 5, 1949 UN resolution, which enshrines the fundamental principle of the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination. They highlighted that even India’s inaugural Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, acknowledged the Kashmiris’ entitlement to a plebiscite. Expressing distress, the posters lamented India’s imposition of collective punishment on the people of IIOJK merely for demanding the UN-mandated plebiscite.

Moreover, the posters conveyed a message accusing New Delhi of employing underhanded strategies to quell the genuine aspirations of Kashmiris for their right to self-determination.

“Kashmiri people have never accepted Indian illegal occupation as Kashmir have never been part of India as Jammu and Kashmir is not an India’s internal matter; instead it is an international dispute on the United Nations agenda,” many posters with the message were seen in streets of Srinagar.

The posters condemned India for ignoring the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination under UN resolutions. The Indian Supreme Court, influenced by the RSS-BJP’s Hindutva ideology, disregarded legal principles in announcing the verdict on Article 370 status, prompting widespread condemnation. Urgent appeals have been made to the global community to exert pressure on India to reinstate Kashmir’s special status and address the longstanding conflict in line with UN resolutions. Individuals have been urged to remain vigilant against the BJP regime’s detrimental policies in the disputed region.
