SRINAGAR: Kashmiris, both on either side of the Line of Control (LoC) and across the globe, are set to commemorate Jammu Martyrs Day on November 6 (Monday) as a reaffirmation of their unwavering commitment to carry forward the mission initiated by their martyrs until they secure their fundamental right to self-determination.

As reported by Kashmir Media Service, the tragic events of November 1947 witnessed the loss of countless lives, with hundreds of thousands of Kashmiris martyred during their migration to Pakistan due to the actions of Dogra Maharaja Hari Singh, the Indian Army, and Hindu extremists in different regions of Jammu. Every year, November 6 is observed by Kashmiris to honour the memory of the Jammu massacre victims.

Preparations are underway to mark this significant day in the history of Jammu Martyrs on both sides of the LoC and around the world.

In Azad Jammu and Kashmir, various activities, including anti-India demonstrations, seminars, and symposiums, will take place in towns of all ten districts and different parts of Pakistan on Monday to pay heartfelt tributes to the Jammu martyrs.

Numerous social, political, religious, and other public representative organizations will hold special prayer meetings, offering homage to the Kashmiri martyrs.

The day will commence with special Fajr prayers in mosques across the region, with prayers for the early liberation of occupied Jammu and Kashmir from Indian control, as well as progress, prosperity, and stability in Pakistan and AJK.

Quran Khawani will be conducted at different locations to honour the memory of the Kashmiri martyrs, organized by various social, political, and public representative groups.

Meanwhile, leaders from the All Parties Hurriyat Conference have paid heartfelt tributes to the Jammu martyrs. They emphasize that on Jammu Martyrs’ Day, the Kashmiri people will renew their commitment to the struggle for freedom. These leaders acknowledge the longstanding sacrifices made by Kashmiris for a just cause and express optimism that the day is approaching when they will achieve their long-cherished goal. They urge the international community to exert pressure on India to cease its harsh actions in IIOJK.
