ISLAMABAD: All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) vice chairman Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar said that the Kashmiris will keep treading the path of the iconic leader, Syed Ali Gilani, till freedom from India’s yoke is achieved as New Delhi will never be able to remove the Kashmiris’ love for the veteran leader.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar in a statement said that Syed Ali Gilani was not just a personality but an institution whose legacy will continue to guide and inspire Kashmiris present and coming generations.

He was an Iconic Leader, pioneer and a truly legendary figure who sacrificed everything for the nation, he added.

“Kashmiris will follow the APHC programme in letter and spirit and march towards his grave in Hyderpora area of Srinagar on 1st September to pay homage to the beloved leader on his second martyrdom anniversary.”

Gulzar emphasized that Syed Ali Gilani commanded widespread respect among Kashmiris due to his unwavering stance on the Kashmir dispute, and India’s efforts will fall short in erasing the deep-rooted affection the Kashmiris hold for him.

In paying tribute to Gilani, Gulzar highlighted the leader’s indomitable spirit and unwavering resistance, characterizing him as an emblem of defiance against India’s deceitful occupation. Gilani’s teachings, writings, and tireless endeavors were instrumental in educating Kashmiris about their rights and the burden of Indian subjugation, Gulzar noted.

Gulzar underscored that Gilani’s efforts bore fruit, as evidenced by the resonance of pro-freedom and pro-Pakistan slogans throughout Kashmir, despite the presence of a substantial Indian military presence. He highlighted Gilani’s resilience against numerous attempts on his life and his unwavering commitment to leading the freedom movement, even in the face of adversity and persecution.

Gilani’s legacy, according to Gulzar, epitomized the Kashmiri struggle and mission, and the Kashmiris would achieve their aspiration for independence from India by adhering to his principles. Syed Ali Gilani’s pivotal role in the Kashmiri struggle for liberation from Indian dominion, his steadfast advocacy for Pakistan, and his unwavering dedication to the cause were celebrated by Gulzar.

The vice chairman of APHC affirmed that the anniversary of Gilani’s martyrdom served as a day to renew the pledge of upholding the torch of resistance ignited by Gilani, undeterred by India’s oppressive measures. Gulam Ahmed Gulzar acknowledged the courageous struggle of Syed Ali Gilani, extending the salute of both Kashmiris and freedom-loving individuals globally.

He assured that Syed Ali Gilani’s legacy would continue to thrive in the hearts and minds of Kashmiris fighting for freedom, with every Kashmiri embodying the spirit of Gilani’s cause. He pledged that Kashmiris would persist in following Syed Ali Gilani’s path until they achieved liberation from India’s control, emphasizing that India’s attempts to erase the Kashmiri people’s devotion to Gilani would remain unsuccessful. —APP
