MUZAFFARABAD: The leaders of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) have alleged that those who have voiced their support for the right to self-determination and peace in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) are being held in jails by Indian occupied forces.

As reported by the Kashmir Media Service, APHC leaders, including Saleem Zargar, Advocate Arshad Iqbal, Farooq Ahmed Tawheedi, Mir Shahid Saleem, and Maulana Musaib Nadvi, collectively expressed that individuals who dare to speak out against Indian injustices, atrocities, and advocate for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute are being confined to prison.

The APHC statement emphasized, “The ruling BJP government has deprived the Kashmiri people of their political, economic, religious, and social rights while simultaneously claiming a false sense of peace in the region.”

Four Hundred Kashmiris in Jails for Advocating Self-Determination

The APHC leaders said that four thousand leaders, activists, and youth associated with the Hurriyat movement are enduring unlawful detentions on fabricated charges under oppressive laws in various jails within IIOJK and India. Their ‘crime’ is speaking the truth.

Meanwhile, the Democratic Youth Forum paid tribute to Umer Qayoom, who was martyred by Indian forces while in custody on August 20, 2010, in Srinagar.
