ISLAMABAD: Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control, in Pakistan and across the world are observing Youm-e-Istehsal today, August 5, to record their protest against Narendra Modi-led Hindutva Indian government’s illegal and unilateral action taken on that day in 2019.
The August 5 sudden implications were that the Muslim-majority region had lost its own constitution, justice system and special status. The changes were brought by extremist Narendra Modi’s government and strongly opposed by people in IIOJK.
Kashmiris Observe Youm-e-Istehsal Today
Pakistan and international community also strongly condemned the unilateral and illegal act of Narendra Modi-led government, serious human rights violations and Indian atrocities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
On the occasion of Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir (5th August), Pakistan’s President Dr. Arif Alvi, condemned India’s actions in IIOJK on 5th August 2019. He said that India is attempting to disempower, and dispossess the Kashmiri people in their own soil, with the aim of permanently occupying the disputed region and erasing its distinct Kashmiri character.
People of Kashmir say the new unilateral acts of India were formulated to change Kashmir’s demography as Israel did in Palestine.
In a message, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Sharif also strongly condemned India’s use of force and violence to suppress the people of Kashmir and New Delhi’s attempts to alter the disputed status of IIOJK. The Prime Minister highlighted India’s recent actions, including selective delimitation of electoral constituencies and the issuance of fake domiciles, as part of a tactic to change Kashmir’s demography and political landscape. Islamabad unequivocally rejected all such illegal and unilateral actions by New Delhi, he added.
Beijing also reaffirmed its longstanding stance on the Kashmir issue and urged for a proper and peaceful resolution of the dispute. A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson highlighted China’s clear and constant stance on the Kashmir issue, saying that the dispute should be resolved through peaceful means, in accordance with international law and relevant UN resolutions.
All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) called for complete shutdown today to mark it as a black day across Kashmir and worldwide. Illegally detained APHC head, Masarrat Aalam Butt, in a message from an Indian jail, said that August 5, 2019 is one of the blackest days in occupied Kashmir. He added the aim of observing the day as Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir is to sensitize the world. India’s brutal repression carries out by its over one million occupation forces in the disputed region.

In a message from Tihar Jail, APHC Vice Chairman Shabbir Ahmed Shah appealed to the Kashmiri people to observe Black Day today to send a strong message to the international community that Kashmiris do not accept New Delhi’s illegal occupation over Jammu and Kashmir.
Western media reported serious human rights violations especially after the cancelation of special status of IIOJK. Kashmir’s politician Omar Abdullah also confessed that there is no democracy in Indian Illegally IIOJK and termed the situation in the valley is abnormal. He also dismissed New Delhi’s claims of normalcy and progress in IIOJK. He acknowledged that there is no civil liberties, press freedom in IIOJK. AP reported that since India unilaterally revoked the special status of the disputed region, throwing the valley into political turmoil and disorder.
