SRINAGAR: The Indian government’s stringent policies have resulted in continuous human rights abuses in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), where Kashmiris endure systematic discrimination, marginalization, and harsh repression.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the region has become the world’s most heavily militarized zone, marked by killings, torture, and arbitrary detentions becoming commonplace.
Since the special status of IIOJK was revoked on August 5, 2019, the Modi administration has escalated its repressive measures, suppressing legitimate aspirations for self-determination.
The longstanding Kashmir dispute remains unresolved and remains closely linked to the ongoing violations of human rights.
