SRINAGAR: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leadership has extended the heartiest felicitations to the people and Government of Pakistan on the eve of their National Day, the 23rd of March, and prayed for the stability, prosperity and progress of Pakistan.
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC leaders, including prominent figures such as Molvi Bashir Irfani, Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Syed Bashir Andrabi, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Saleem Zargar, Khawaja Firdous, Muhammad Shafi Lone, Ms. Hafza Bano, Fareeda Behanji, Maulana Musaib Nadvi, and others, issued separate statements in Srinagar, emphasizing the significance of the Pakistan Resolution adopted on March 23, 1940, as a pivotal event in South Asian history.
They highlighted how the March 23 Resolution provided renewed vigour and determination to the Muslims of the region who rallied behind Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah’s leadership within the All India Muslim League to pursue their freedom.
The leaders expressed immense gratitude on behalf of the Kashmiri people to the government and citizens of Pakistan for their unwavering moral, political, and diplomatic support for the Kashmiris’ just struggle for self-determination. They emphasized Pakistan’s pivotal role in advocating for the Kashmir issue on the international stage, asserting that a strong and stable Pakistan is crucial for resolving the dispute.
Reiterating that the Kashmiri struggle is a continuation of the Pakistan Movement, they drew inspiration from the historic March 23, 1940 Resolution. They vowed to persist in their struggle against the forced occupation of Jammu and Kashmir until its liberation from Indian control and its integration with Pakistan.
Simultaneously, APHC-AJK Convener Mehmood Ahmed Saghar and other leaders, including Shaikh Abdul Mateen, Imtiyaz Wani, Muhammad Sultan Bhat, Syed Aijaz Rehmani, Chaudhry Shaheen Iqbal, Zahid Ashraf, Zahid Safi, Altaf Ahmad Butt, and Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, issued separate statements in Islamabad, extending heartfelt felicitations to the people and Government of Pakistan on Pakistan Day.
The APHC-AJK leaders emphasized that Pakistan remains the sole hope and sanctuary for Kashmiris, expressing unwavering faith in Pakistan, its courageous populace, political leadership, and armed forces, believing that they will never waver in supporting Kashmiris’ legitimate pursuit of the right to self-determination as guaranteed by the United Nations.
They urged the international community to fulfill its obligations in resolving the Kashmir dispute in line with UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Furthermore, the APHC-AJK leaders highlighted Pakistan’s resilience in repelling foreign Indian aggression, combating internal adversaries over the past 76 years, and lending support to the struggle of oppressed Kashmiri Muslims for their right to self-determination. They also emphasized Pakistan’s role in addressing global challenges to Islam and the Muslim cause. —APP
