ISLAMABAD: Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar, Vice Chairman of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) while greeting Pakistan on its Defence Day, has paid glowing tributes to the heroes of the 1965 war who sacrificed their lives while defending their motherland and frustrated the evil designs of the enemy.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar, in a statement issued in Srinagar today, said that the 6th of September, Pakistan’s Defence Day, is the tale of bravery and heroism.

“On this memorable day, the Pakistani nation stood united as one solid edifice to counter the onslaught of the enemy that chose the cover of darkness to achieve its nefarious designs.”

He was of the view that a strong and prosperous Pakistan is not only key to the peace in the region but also guarantees the success to the legitimate freedom movement launched by the Kashmiri people.

The Kashmir issue, he said, is the main hurdle in the peace in the region. He was of the view that peace will remain a dream unless the burning issue is resolved according to UN resolutions and wishes and aspirations of Kashmiris people.

He further said that Indian hegemonic and expansionary designs were a real threat to world peace, especially in south Asia.

He said Kashmir is the real cause of enmity between Pakistan and India. Pakistan has always supported the just struggle of the Kashmiri people for self-determination, he added.

Gulzar said Pakistan is the only hope for Kashmiris as he thanked Pakistan for its rock-solid support for Kashmir resolution.

He said, “India has declared a full-fledged war against Kashmiris after deploying over one million troops to crush the popular voice of freedom in the occupied valley. He also urged the UN to take concrete steps for implementing its resolutions on Kashmir and restore its lost credibility and glory. —APP
