ISLAMABAD: Sampat Prakash, a Pandit in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, has said that Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman Yasin Malik lives in the hearts of the Kashmiri people and he is fighting for them.

Sampat Prakash, a trade union leader, said that Yasin Malik was a great and courageous leader, according to Kashmiri media service.

The Indian court has sentenced Yasin Malik to life imprisonment in a concocted case after he did not budge from resisting the Indian forces in occupied Kashmir. Yasin Malik is currently locked up in the notorious Tihar Jail of New Delhi.

Sampat Prakash said that Yasin Malik is a courageous leader of Kashmir who had given up armed resistance in 1994 to start a peaceful struggle for the freedom of Kashmiris.

He said he was proud of Yasin Malik for spending most of his life in jail for the cause of Kashmir. He also asked Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi if he wanted to resolve the Kashmir dispute, he should visit Kashmir and visit Srinagar’s graveyard and bow before the graves of Kashmiri martyrs and seek forgiveness from the Kashmiri people.
