ISLAMABAD: The abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, is highly illegal and controversial decision by the extremist BJP-led Indian government that has a significant impact on the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
The Modi fascist government under the act revoked the special status of IIOJK granted under Article 370 and split the region into two Union territories. Kashmiri leadership has time and again criticized the illegal Indian move of abrogation of 370 and recently Omar Abdullah voiced his concerns busting the myth of Indian false claims of normalcy, peace and prosperity in the disputed region.
The IIOJK has seen continued human rights violations, demographic changes, and a push to delimit the Indian occupied territory in order to install BJP’s Chief Minister. India claims it is providing economic development and promoting democracy in IIOJK when in fact it continues to breach international law.
Omar Abdullah has said that Kashmiris are only getting betrayed while he slammed center over power cuts In Kashmir. He pointed towards 14 hours long electricity shut downs that the IIOJK is experiencing during the harsh winters, he described abrogation of 370 as sole reason behind indigenous armed freedom struggle.
IIOJK is being governed by guns
Omar said IIOJK is being governed by guns and youth is being targeted by Indian occupational forces.
It is a proven fact that majority of younger generation has been forced to pick up arms after Aug 2019, due to the blatant human rights abuses committed by Indian occupational forces, IIOJK is pacing towards a genocidal situation.
Extremist government has introduced hundreds of illegal laws aimed to reshape the demographic and linguistic landscape of IIOJK and concerns have been raised by the UN and international community. Omar blamed BJP for transforming India into a totalitarian and authoritarian state heavily infested with Hindutva ideology.
Kashmiris feel that they have been betrayed of their trust and their rights have been violated, which are open violation of the UN resolution.
