Kashmiri Leaders Vow to Carry Forward Syed Ali Gilani’s Vision

SRINGER: Leaders and organizations of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) have paid heartfelt tributes to the late veteran Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Gilani, while reiterating their commitment to carry forward his mission for Kashmir cause.

According to the Kashmir Media Service (KMS), Syed Ali Gilani devoted his life to promoting the right of the people of Jammu and Kashmir to self-determination. He consistently advocated for the Kashmir issue to be resolved in accordance with UN resolutions and the welfare of the Kashmiri people.

Senior APHC leader Nayeem Ahmed Khan, who is now being held without charges in Tihar prison in New Delhi, conveyed from his cell that Syed Ali Gilani’s lifelong commitment to the Kashmiri cause would be remembered in Kashmiri history forever.

He emphasized that Gilani’s unyielding struggle and sacrifices for Kashmir serve as a source of pride and will be a lasting source of inspiration for future generations of Kashmiris.

Other APHC leaders, including Advocate Devinder Singh Behl, Ghulam Nabi Sumjhi, Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Farida Bahenji, Yasmeen Raja, Muhammad Aaqib, and Mrs. Mehbooba, stated in their separate statements that Syed Ali Gilani’s commitment, unwavering resolve, and contributions to the ongoing pursuit of Kashmiris’ right to self-determination will forever be etched in the memory of the people of Kashmir.

They highlighted that Ali Gilani dedicated his entire life to the cause of the Kashmiri people and their inherent right to self-determination. His resolute stance on the Kashmir dispute transformed him into a potent voice for the voiceless Kashmiri population.

Kashmiri Leaders Vow to Uphold Syed Gilani’s Legacy and Mission

Simultaneously, leaders of the APHC-AJK chapter, including Convener Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, Shaikh Abdul Mateen, Imtiaz Wani, Shaikh Muhammad Yaqoob, Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, Syed Manzoor Ahmad Shah, and Mushtaq Hussain Gilani, conveyed their thoughts in Islamabad, characterizing Ali Gilani as a symbol of courage and steadfastness in the face of oppression and tyranny.

They emphasized that Gilani’s sacrifices would serve as a wellspring of motivation for oppressed and vulnerable nations worldwide, who have seen their freedom curtailed by more powerful nations. They further emphasized that Syed Ali Gilani’s ideals and mission are not only alive but will continue to thrive, securing his place as a great leader of both the past and present centuries.

The APHC-AJK leaders also urged the global community and international human rights organizations to put pressure on India to cease its state-sponsored acts of terrorism in the region of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and to ensure the realization of the Kashmiri people’s legitimate right to self-determination.
