SRINAGAR: Political experts and analysts Thursday highlighted that a just resolution of the Kashmir dispute as per UN resolutions is must for achieving longer term peace in South Asia.
They said that the unresolved Kashmir issue has led to excessive nuclearization and militarization in the territory, making it a ticking time bomb. Prominent political analyst Dr. Sultan said that the world must pressurize New Delhi to resolve the dispute of Kashmir as per relevant UN resolutions.

Since August 2019, there has been a surge in extrajudicial killings of the innocent people of Jammu and Kashmir in fake encounters and so-called cordon and search operations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), experts said.
Dr. Yaqoob, a professor of international relations said that India has been hindering the way for over seven decades for a peaceful resolution of the issue of Kashmir. The UN is duty-bound to secure the execution of its resolutions on Kashmir, he added.
Analysts also emphasized that the international community must hold extremist Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government answerable for their war crimes against the people of Kashmir.
Analyst Dr. Kaul said that it is time to bring Modi and his confederates to book for their war crimes against the people of Kashmir. The expert was of the view that the world powers must fulfill their commitment made with the people of Kashmir about the right to self-determination.
The experts urged the United Nations and human right organizations to redouble its efforts to urgently address the Kashmir issue and bring peace to the region.
