KARACHI: Sindh’s Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Sardar Muhammad Bux Khan Mahar, emphasized Pakistan’s leading role in Blind Cricket worldwide, underscoring the exceptional performance of the nation’s visually impaired cricketers across various international formats.
His remarks came during a meeting at his office with Syed Sultan Shah, the Chairman of the Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC). The meeting was also attended by Provincial Secretary of Sports Jalaluddin Mahar, Chief Engineer Aslam Mahar, Asif Azeem, Media Advisor of the Pakistan Olympic Association, and Ahmed Ali Rajput, Secretary of the Sindh Olympic Association.
Provincial Minister Mahar welcomed the upcoming Fourth T20 Blind Cricket World Cup to be hosted in Pakistan, affirming Sindh Government’s readiness to host the event in Karachi. He assured full support in organizing the World Cup and expressed his determination to engage with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah to ensure the province’s active participation in this significant occasion.
Mahar pledged to follow up on the matter next week, highlighting that hosting the Blind Cricket World Cup would not only rejuvenate international sports in Pakistan but also provide local players with a platform to showcase their skills before a home crowd.
During the meeting, PBCC Chairman Syed Sultan Shah provided insights into the Fourth T20 Blind Cricket World Cup, scheduled from November 22nd to December 3rd, with seven countries, including India, confirming their participation in the prestigious event.
