ISLAMABAD: Karachi Kings have been dealt a significant blow ahead of their Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 opener as star batter Litton Das was ruled out of the tournament due to injury.
The Bangladeshi cricketer, who was expected to be a key figure in the Kings’ batting line-up, sustained an injury to his right thumb during a training session.
Subsequent scans revealed a hairline fracture, according to Cricket Pakistan.
As a result, Litton has returned to Bangladesh for further medical assessment and treatment. His absence leaves a notable gap in the squad just ahead of their opening fixture.
The Kings, captained by Australian international David Warner, are set to face Multan Sultans on Saturday night at Karachi’s National Bank Stadium.
Withdrawal from tournament
The 30-year-old took to social media to express his disappointment, confirming the injury and his withdrawal from the tournament.
He wrote: “I was genuinely looking forward to representing Karachi Kings in the PSL, but fate had other plans. During training, I suffered a finger injury. Scans showed a hairline fracture, and the recovery is expected to take a minimum of two weeks. Unfortunately, this means my PSL journey ends before it even begins. I’m heading back to Bangladesh—please keep me in your prayers. Wishing my team Karachi Kings all the very best.”
With PSL 10 now underway, Karachi Kings are tasked with finding a suitable replacement for Litton. The team management is actively exploring options to fill the void left by the top-order batter, aiming to remain competitive and maintain momentum despite this early hurdle.
