Taking to Twitter, United States Department Spokesperson Ned Price strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the Karachi Police Office. “We stand with the Pakistani people in the face of the terrorist attack. Violence is not the answer and it should and must stop,” he wrote, expressing condolence with the families of those martyred in the attack.
Earlier, commandos from the elite police unit, troops from paramilitary rangers, and military snipers took part in the operation to neutralize the terrorists.
A police official said that two terrorists were killed while another blew himself up after entering the building.
Initial reports suggested that the terrorists carried out two significant blasts and used more than a dozen grenades in the attack. All of them were wearing suicide jackets laden with explosives weighing around 7 kilograms each.
