Kakar Thanks All Stakeholders for Interim PM Appointment

ISLAMABAD: Newly appointed Caretaker Prime of Pakistan, Anwaarul Haq Kakar, has expressed gratitude to all the stakeholders for reposing their trust in him to lead the country.

In a statement on social media late Saturday, he said: I am thankful to the Almighty for being given an opportunity to serve the people of Pakistan.

He said: My gratitude also extends to all the stakeholders for reposing their trust in me to lead the country.

“Prayers requested from everyone that Allah gives me the fortitude to carry out my responsibilities with due diligence,” he requested in the statement.

Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) Senator Anwaarul Haq Kakar has been appointed as the interim prime minister of Pakistan, in a decision reached by outgoing Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and outgoing Opposition Leader in the National Assembly, lower house of the Parliament (NA) Raja Riaz.

Kakar will serve as the caretaker Prime Minister until a new government is elected.

Elected to the Senate in 2018, Kakar’s active participation in the political landscape has been marked by his dedication to Balochistan’s progress.
