Kabul Expo Attracts Hundreds of Investors from Pakistan, Other Countries

ISLAMABAD: International Expo and Trade Fair held in Kabul attracted more than 600 businessmen and investors from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, and Turkmenistan. The 2nd Imam Abu Hanifa Expo was arranged by the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries began on 16 July and will be concluded on the 22nd (Saturday) of this month.

Apart from leading investors from the regions, a significant number of women traders and industrialists also participated in the mega event along with their products.

The expo focused to refresh the revival of the Afghan economy and markets and to make its access to regional and international markets. More than 25 well-known Pakistani industrialists and businessmen also took part in the expo.

One of the key purposes of the expo was to promote the local products of Afghan businessmen and to increase their linkages with the neighbouring and regional partners.

Trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan

It is worth noting that Pakistan is the largest trading partner of Afghanistan and is providing all possible backing to its brethren country in promoting its trade in the region.

Expressing his view over the expo, Chief Executive of TDAP Muhammad Zubair Motiwala said that Pakistan was the largest trading partner of Afghanistan adding that businessmen and investors from both the countries should fully exploit the opportunities presented by the Expo.

Motiwala further said that Pakistan is also leaving no stone unturned in facilitating for Afghanistan’s smooth global trade through the transit facility provided by Pakistan.

He added that Pakistan has provided significant tariff concessions on  Afghan fruits and vegetables exports to Pakistan.
