ISLAMABAD: Justice Irfan Sadaat Khan took oath as a Supreme Court judge here on Friday.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa administered the oath to Justice Sadaat. The swearing-in ceremony was attended by judges of the top court, attorney general and the lawyers. The Judicial Commission of Pakistan had unanimously approved the nomination of Acting Chief Justice of Sindh High Court, Irfan Saadat Khan as a judge of the apex court.
According to the Chief Justice, Irfan Saadat Khan met the stipulated requirement as he was knowledgeable, well-experienced and had an upright character. He was also the most senior Judge among the chief justices and judges of all the high courts.
Justice Khan served as the chief justice Sindh High Court for more than six years. He was elevated as judge of the SHC in September 2009 and became the chief justice in March 2017.
