Justice for Youth: India’s Extra-judicial Killings in Occupied Kashmir

SRINAGAR: In another incident of extra-judicial killings of innocent Kashmiris on night 10 / 11 Aug 24, Indian Occupation Forces abducted and killed Muhammad Manzoor s/o Muhammad Din resident of village Mohra Bichai, Tehsil Surankot, District Poonch. He was kidnapped and shifted to District Jammu for further investigation; however, family and relatives of individual were not informed about any legal proceedings or charges.

In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, (IIOJK) Indian Occupation Forces are frequently reported to be involved in extra-judicial killings of innocent Kashmiris. Draconian laws like UAPA, PSA & AFSPA provide cover to Security forces in Indian Occupied Kashmir to commit abuse of power and perpetrate such heinous acts.

During the custody, Muhammad Manzoor was subjected to 3rd degree torture causing him serious injuries, sources said.  On 6 September 24, he was shifted to hospital where he succumbed to injuries.

Innocent youth in Occupied Kashmir are alleged for having association with militant organizations, brutally tortured and later martyred, western media said.  According to media reports, in past Zia Mustafa and Muhammad Ali Hussain were martyred in October 21 and Aug 22 respectively by Indian Occupation Forces in fake encounters.

To hide the monstrous act, Indian Occupation Forces threatened the family of Muhammad Manzoor of dire consequences if they pressed charges or raised voice. Human Right activists and analysts strongly condemned the atrocities and brutalities of Indian Occupation Forces in Occupied Kashmir and demanded justice for the victim. They asked the UN and human right organizations to take immediate notice of Indian forces atrocities in Occupied Kashmir. The activists said that there is need to highlight grave violation of human rights through media especially social media to expose atrocities of Indian Occupation Forces in the Occupied Kashmir.
