ISLAMABAD: Acclaimed Portuguese author and poet, José Luis Peixoto will participate in the Literary Festival of Lahore to be held from February 23 to 25.
A statement by the Portuguese embassy in Pakistan on Monday said that he will be visiting with the support of the Portuguese Institute Camões.
The author will be attending different university events with students and professors, and engaging with Pakistanis’ writers, journalists and culture related personalities during his stay in Islamabad.
José Luis Peixoto born in 1974 in Alentejo, south of Portugal is one of the country’s most acclaimed contemporary authors. He is winner of the José Saramago Literary Award, and his literary works have been translated into more than 30 languages.
The author will engage in several thematic discussion panels at the Lahore Literary Festival 2024. He will express his views on literature, life, his literary career, and literature in the Portuguese language speaking countries.
