AMMAN: Jordan’s King Abdullah has taken part in an air drop of humanitarian assistance to Gaza, state media said on Sunday.
A video showed the monarch in military outfit on board a plane in the latest mission by the Jordanian air force to drop medical supplies to field hospitals it runs in the war-hit enclave.
Jordan, which has been among Arab neighbors pressing Israel to allow more aid into Gaza, is the only country that airdrops aid to Gaza strip for two medical facilities.

It has carried out 11 air drops, with at least two conducted with the French and Dutch airforces, to deliver medical assistance.
King Abdullah, who has been vocal in calling for an end to Israel’s war left on a tour of major Western capitals on Thursday and is expected to hold a meeting with US President Joe Biden in Washington on Februray 12 to lobby for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza war.
Jordan has already forced Israel to allow the World Food Programme (WFP) to send deliveries to Gaza through another land route that starts from Jordan, helping ease pressure on the main Rafah border crossing.
Jordan, which shares a border with the West Bank, fears that the Gaza war could spread, with more violence by armed settlers supported by the Israeli army triggering a large-scale Palestinian displacement to the other side of the Jordan River.
