Jordan Launches Water Awareness Campaign

AMMAN: Jordan launched a water araeness campaign on Monday as part of ongoing efforts to address supply challenges in the country.

The drive is being run by the Ministry of Water and Irrigation in collaboration with the Wastewater Treatment, Reuse and Water Supply project of the German International Cooperation Agency, according to the Jordan media.

The scheme aims to promote conserving water culture and habits and will include lectures, workshops, and training programs for workers in the field.

Jordan’s efforts to tackle water security challenges

Jordan Water Authority’s assistant secretary-general Omar Salameh said the campaign was part of ongoing efforts to deal with water security challenges in Jordan.

He said that the industry was promptly promoting water reuse in a number of fields through partnerships with top institutions, and utilising modern technologies to rationalize use, eliminate waste and maintain quality.
