AMMAN, Jordan: Jordan has taken a significant humanitarian step by sending its first aid plane to Gaza since the outbreak of the recent conflict between Israel and Hamas, which began with a militant attack over the weekend.

This act of assistance is a response to the escalating number of Palestinians who have been injured in the ongoing war.

The aid plane, equipped by the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) in collaboration with the Jordanian Foreign Ministry and the Royal Air Force, is carrying essential medical supplies to support the people of Gaza during this crisis.

The JHCO’s Secretary-General, Hussein Al-Shibli, expressed the organization’s commitment to providing medical supplies to hospitals and entities involved in addressing the urgent needs of Gaza’s residents.

In a coordinated effort with Egyptian authorities, the relief plane will first land in Egypt before proceeding to the Gaza Strip via the Rafah border, as reported by Jordan’s official news agency, PETRA.

Amid the intensifying conflict, Israel has increased its airstrikes on Gaza and imposed a complete siege on the region, resulting in severe shortages of essential resources, including food, electricity, and water. Hospitals are overwhelmed with patients, and medical supplies are quickly running out. To support this critical humanitarian mission, the JHCO has been accepting cash donations through its bank account at Union Bank and its official website.
