AMMAN, Jordan: Jordan’s Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh has approved a new law permitting public employees to take up a second job outside their official working hours, provided it does not impact their productivity or commitment to their primary roles.

The decision follows a thorough examination of the potential benefits and the establishment of transparent controls to govern this policy, as reported by Petra News Agency.

Khasawneh emphasized that the new law aims to facilitate an exchange of benefits and expertise, allowing public sector employees with valuable qualifications and experience to contribute to other fields, such as academia or the information technology sector.

He highlighted that this flexibility would enable employees to leverage their skills and provide additional value beyond their governmental roles, enhancing overall productivity and professional growth.
