AMMAN: Ministers from Algeria and Jordan have agreed on a road map for the advancement of trade, economic, and investment cooperation, the Jordan News Agency reported on Tuesday.

A delegation of officials from Jordan met with Algerian officials to discuss bilateral cooperation in line with the directives of their governments and the results of a visit by King Abdullah II to Algeria in December. The plans include projects to enhance trade exchanges, inter-investment volumes, and cooperation in several sectors.

Jordan’s minister of industry, trade, and supply, Yousef Al-Shamali, said the talks reflected a shared desire to strengthen bilateral relations in various fields to serve common interests.

He emphasized the significance of forming partnerships to address challenges relating to food security, emergencies, supply chains, and global geopolitical factors and highlighted a new air route that will connect the two countries.
He added that a direct flight route between Algeria and Amman would be launched on March 9, with two flights a week by Royal Jordanian Airlines and two flights by Air Algerie.
