ISLAMABAD: The dream of linking Pakistan, Uzbekistan and Afghanistan via the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (UAP) intra-train project has come true as the officials from the three nations on Tuesday inked a joint protocol at the Ministry of Railway.

APP reported that the ceremony was witnessed by Pakistan’s Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, the envoy of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan and other top-level officials.
The Joint Protocol was inked by the Secretary of Pakistan Railways, Director General and CEO of Afghanistan Railway Authority, and Head of Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade and Department of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Speaking on the occasion, Pakistan’s Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique said that it was a historical day as the initiative would help to link three nations business-to-business and people-to-people. The Minister said that the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan would churn out great economic advantages for the entire region.
