MIRPUR: The US-based Acting Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Yasin Malik faction, Raja Muzaffar and Director of the Board of South Asia Democracy Watch USA has called for a peaceful resolution to the long-standing Kashmir dispute.
In a statement on Friday, Raja Muzaffar responded to the recent US travel advisory on Kashmir, adding that the Indian government’s reaction to the advisory is misguided and unjustified.
“Kashmir remains a contentious issue that requires a peaceful resolution,” Muzaffar suggested. The JKLF (Y) leader stressed that the aspirations and wishes of the Kashmiri people must be taken into account.
He said that Pakistan and India should engage in meaningful dialogue and work towards a solution that prioritizes the well-being of the Kashmiri people.
His organization, South Asia Democracy Watch USA and JKLF (Yasin Malik) have been advocating for a democratic and peaceful solution to the conflict.
He said: Let’s focus on finding a peaceful solution rather than reacting defensively. “It’s time for the world super powers to put the due interests of the Kashmiri people, the premier stakeholders, first and work towards a resolution that respects their rights and dignity,” he said.
