PONTEVEDRA, Spain: Global pop sensation Jennifer Lopez has debuted a new breakup song titled Wreckage of You, marking her return to the stage after her recent divorce from actor and filmmaker Ben Affleck.
The song was performed live for the first time on Tuesday night during the opening concert of Lopez’s highly anticipated Up All Night tour at Parque Tafisa Stadium in Pontevedra, Spain.
Addressing the crowd, Lopez introduced the track by saying, “This is a song – that is a new song – which I want to sing for the first time tonight. This song came to me when I was up all night. So we sing this one for the people.”
The emotional lyrics struck a chord with fans, many of whom linked the song to Lopez’s high-profile split from Affleck.
With lines such as “Because of you, I am stronger, wiser. Better than I’ve ever been… Now watch me climb out of the wreckage of you,” the track is being widely interpreted as a deeply personal reflection on heartbreak, resilience, and growth.
Lopez, known for blending real-life experiences into her music, appears to have channelled her recent personal upheaval into the ballad.

According to fans and critics on social media, Wreckage of You captures the emotional aftermath of a breakup, resonating with listeners for its raw honesty and vulnerability. The performance received a standing ovation, with many calling it a defining moment of the night.
The release comes just months after Lopez finalised her divorce from Affleck. The couple, once dubbed “Bennifer” by fans and tabloids alike, rekindled their early-2000s romance in 2021 and married the following year.
However, their marriage ended after two years, when Lopez filed for divorce in August 2024. The split was settled through mediation and approved by the Los Angeles Superior Court earlier this year.
While Lopez has not publicly confirmed the song’s connection to her ex-husband, the timing and tone of the performance have led to widespread speculation.
Entertainment outlets, including People and Billboard, have noted that the lyrics mirror themes the singer has discussed in past interviews—particularly around heartbreak, personal transformation, and the strength to move forward.
The singer first teased the song at a fan event on 2 July, but it was the live performance in Pontevedra that brought its message into full focus.
As the tour progresses, Wreckage of You is already gaining momentum online, with fans praising it as a “classic J.Lo heartbreak anthem.”
Jennifer Lopez’s Up All Night tour continues across Europe, with upcoming stops in Paris, Milan, and Berlin.
