PESHAWAR: Javeria Khan, who debuted in ODIs against Sri Lanka in Kurunegala back in May 2008 and later made her T20I debut in Dublin in 2009 against Ireland, has decided to bid farewell to international cricket after 15 illustrious years.
During her career, the right-handed batter represented the Pakistan women’s team in 228 international matches, amassing 4,903 runs, including two centuries and 25 half-centuries, along with claiming 28 international wickets. Renowned for her consistency, Javeria currently holds the second-highest run scorer title in both ODIs and T20Is for Pakistan, becoming the only Pakistani woman cricketer besides Bismah Maroof to surpass 2,000 runs in each format.
She notably participated in four 50-over World Cups and all eight T20 World Cups since its inception. Furthermore, Javeria contributed to Pakistan’s gold medal victories in the 2010 and 2014 Asian Games.
Additionally, she captained Pakistan in several matches, including two ICC Women’s T20 World Cups. Apart from her on-field achievements, Javeria also completed the PCB Level 2 Cricket Coach course last year. Expressing her gratitude, Javeria acknowledged the support from her family, teammates, PCB, ZTBL, and fans, emphasizing the privilege of representing Pakistan globally.
