ISLAMABAD: Jason Holder of Islamabad United delivered one of the finest all-round displays in T20 history during a PSL 2025 clash against Multan Sultans in Rawalpindi.
Islamabad United posted a total of 202-6 after Mohammad Rizwan won the toss and elected to field. Sahibzada Farhan (53 off 35 balls, including seven fours and two sixes) and Colin Munro (48 off 25, with four fours and three sixes) provided a rapid start, taking the side to 80-1 by the ninth over.
Despite slipping to 136-5 in the 16th over, Haider Ali (33 off 16, three fours and two sixes) and Holder (an unbeaten 32 off 14, three fours and two sixes) propelled them beyond the 200-run mark.
Holder’s breakthrough
Multan Sultans got off to a solid start despite losing Shai Hope early. Rizwan (38 off 27 balls, three fours and a six) and Usman Khan (31 off 20, with three fours and two sixes) took them to 62-1 by the sixth over and 92-2 at the halfway mark.
However, Holder’s breakthrough turned the tide. Apart from Iftikhar Ahmed (32 off 16, two fours and two sixes), no batter offered much resistance as Holder (4-25) and Imad Wasim (2-33) dismantled the lower order, bowling Multan out for 155.
Holder also took two catches in the match. With this, he became only the fifth cricketer — and the first in Asia — to score at least 30 runs at a strike rate of 200 or more, claim four wickets, and take two catches in a men’s T20 match.
Men’s T20: Players with 30+ runs (SR 200+), 4 wickets & 2 catches.
