KARACHI: Consul General of Japan in Karachi Odagiri Toshio held a meeting with Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab at the KMC head office on Monday.
Deputy Consul General Nakagawa Yashushi accompanied by the Consul General while Deputy Mayor Karachi Salman Abdullah Murad was also present in the meeting.
Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab welcomed the Japanese envoy on his arrival at the KMC head office. On this occasion, they exchanged views on matters of mutual interest.
The mayor said that the relationship between Pakistan and Japan was the best example of mutual cooperation between the two countries. Japan has made amazing progress in a short span of time which was an example for other countries. Japan was helping Pakistan in different fields, including development projects.
He said that Japanese investment companies would be provided with facilities to invest in Karachi. The city administration wanted to utilize Japan’s technical and development expertise in urban affairs so that quality municipal facilities could be provided to the citizens of Karachi.
He said that the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation was taking measures to provide better facilities to the citizens. The administration will welcome the cooperation of other nations, including the development projects in the city.
The mayor said that the bilateral ties between Pakistan and Japan will be more stable in the future.

Japanese Envoy Vows Further Cooperation
Odagiri Toshio said that the process of developing the infrastructure in Karachi city was a positive effort. The Japanese government has good wishes for the development of Pakistan’s largest city.
He expressed hope that mutual cooperation between the two nations will continue.
