ISLAMABAD: The Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has lauded the steadfastness of its Chairman Shabbir Ahmad Shah on the completion of around seven consecutive years in Indian infamous Tihar prison.
According to local and western media, the DFP acting chairman Mehmood Ahmed Saghar said that Shabbir Shah was arrested in the manner of adducting from Srinagar on fake and false cases lodged by India’s dreaded National Investigation Agency (NIA) against the leader of Kashmir and was taken to the Tihar prison in New Delhi where now he has completed seven years of illegal and unlawful detention.
He stated that although hundreds of pages of so-called charge-sheets have been filed against Shabbir Shah, but not a single evidence has been provided to substantiate the baseless allegations against him. This is the reality of Shabbir Shah’s 38 years and six months prison life, he said.
The DFP stated that Shabbir Shah was forced to spend half of his life in different prisons, interrogation and torture centers, but each time he was freed because his politics is fair and transparent.
“He wants the resolution of the Kashmir issue according to the will of the Kashmiri people. He believes in talks but he is not afraid of calling the oppressor an oppressor,” the statement further said.
