ISLAMABAD: Amidst recent speculations surrounding the conditions of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s detention, Jail authorities have come forward to clarify and dispel misinformation. Contrary to circulating reports, the room where the former prime minister is being held is described as clean and spacious, disproving claims that it measures 8 x 8 feet.

Jail officials maintained that Imran Khan has access to a bed and mattress, and he does not sleep on the floor, as falsely propagated. The room is also sufficiently equipped to accommodate a prayer mat.

The food served to Imran Khan undergoes rigorous testing by a designated team of three doctors who ensure its quality and safety before it reaches his room, authorities stated. In terms of comfort, a room cooler is provided to maintain suitable conditions, and Imran Khan is permitted to take walks at a designated area as desired. His daily routine includes sleeping around 11-12 pm and waking up at approximately 11 am.

Imran Khan Kept in B Class

Furthermore, Jail authorities clarified that the notion of a “D class” in Pakistani Prisons is baseless. The prison structure only comprises C and B classes. Imran Khan has been authorized for B Class accommodations since his first day of detention. It is important to note that the distinction between B and C classes lies mainly in the provided equipment rather than the overall structure.

Imran Khan’s health is under constant monitoring, with multiple daily medical check-ups confirming his fit condition and steady blood pressure. Following established procedures, his legal team was granted access to him on the first working day post-arrest.

Authorities emphasized that Imran Khan did not request any visitors apart from Bushra Bibi, therefore no denial of additional visitation requests has occurred. Regular sanitation practices are upheld to ensure a clean environment, with efforts to prevent the presence of flies and mosquitoes.

Addressing the quality of service provided to the detainee, authorities highlighted that Imran Khan, as a prisoner, receives the same tea and meals as others. Any concerns regarding this matter should have been addressed during the approximate four-year rule of the PTI government.
