ISLAMABAD: Italy’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Andreas Ferrarese, on Sunday called on Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Punjab House Islamabad and discussed increasing cooperation in the fields of trade, culture, and tourism.
In the meeting, they also discussed steps regarding the maximum exchange of trade and cultural delegations.
The Italian envoy reiterated his commitment to continue supporting Pakistan for the extension of GSP plus status.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that Pakistan and Italy are friendly nations, and the time has come to convert this friendship into beneficial economic ties.
He said the fields of commerce and culture are interlinked, and the Punjab government wanted to increase cooperation with Italy in these sectors.
CM Welcomes Italy’s Support
Naqvi said that he also welcomes Italy’s support for the training of Police Liaison Officers.
The Chief Minister said that the facilitation of work visas and the active role of the Trade Commission is important to increase trade.

CM Naqvi said that we are starting a window operation to promote investment in Punjab province, and if Italian investors will come to Punjab, they will be provided with all possible facilities.
The Italian envoy said in the meeting that the Trade Commission has started work to increase mutual trade and measures are being taken to facilitate work visas, and further cooperation in the sectors of culture, tourism, and trade would be promoted.
