As per media reports, Antonio Tajani expressed these remarks during an interaction in Rome with Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita.

“It is essential for both sides to work for the prosperity and stability of the region,” Tajani said during a joint news conference at the end of the meeting. He said that the meeting occurred “in a positive moment for the bilateral ties between the two nations.”

Nasser Bourita described the ties between Morocco and Italy as “strong” and based on positive cooperation in all sectors.

The two foreign ministers also inked a plan for the execution of a strategic partnership that sets for the next several years four top priorities for bilateral ties: strengthening political talks on regional matters in Africa, the Mediterranean and the Middle East, consolidating cultural and economic cooperation, creating a consultation procedure on immigration and consular affairs and reinforcing security coordination.

Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita maintained: “Rome is keen to work in African region with Morocco.

The Minister described as “promising” the economic ties between the two sides, saying that Rome is one of Morocco’s top ten trading partners, with more than 200 Italian firms operating in the country in a wide range of fields.

Tajani said that a business council will be constituted to develop a shared vision on the region of Africa. “Morocco is an important nation in our neighborhood,” Tajani remarked.
