Italian Ambassador and Pakistan’s Chairman Senate Discuss Bilateral Relations

ISLAMABAD: The Ambassador of Italy to Pakistan, Andreas Ferrarese, met with Pakistan’s Chairman Senate, Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani, at the Parliament House in Islamabad on Friday. The meeting focused on mutual interests, with significant emphasis on prevailing regional dynamics and energy-related matters.

During the discussion, Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani underscored the friendly relations between Pakistan and Italy, emphasizing the need for further strengthening bilateral ties. He advocated for diversifying energy sources beyond conventional methods and highlighted the untapped potential in solar and wind energy within Pakistan. Sanjrani also pointed out the expertise of energy professionals in Italy, proposing collaboration to explore alternative methods of electricity generation in Pakistan.

Addressing the escalating impacts of climate change, Chairman Senate Sanjrani stressed the global imperative to transition towards clean energy generation. The meeting concluded with both sides expressing their commitment to bolster trade and economic relations between Italy and Pakistan.

Investment Opportunities in Pakistan

Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani extended a warm invitation to Italian enterprises to capitalize on the investment prospects available in Pakistan. He specifically highlighted opportunities within the mineral sector, particularly in Balochistan, which could prove favorable for Italian investors. Pakistan regards its relationship with Italy as highly significant and aims to enhance cooperation across various domains, particularly in economic collaboration.
