ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja said on Thursday that the development of the IT sector was the first priority and the government welcomed the investment by Pak-Qatar Group in Pakistan’s IT infrastructure development.
While addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Pakistan-Qatar IT Tower, the minister said there were a number of opportunities for the youth in this era of technology.
She said the government was going to digitize the economy, governance and society under the National Digitalization Plan, adding that digitalization would ensure transparency in the system and facilitation for the public.
Shaza Fatima said that steps were being taken for better IT and Telecommunication infrastructure and connectivity in Pakistan.
Shaza Fatima Highlights Pakistan-Qatar Ties
She said Pakistan and Qatar have brotherly ties and it is welcoming that investment from Qatar is moving towards the IT sector.
Shaza Fatima said that Pakistan needed foreign investment as the atmosphere for FDI was conducive.
