ISSI Celebrates Independence Day Under “Mera Pakistan” Theme

ISLAMABAD: The Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) celebrated Pakistan’s Independence Day with a vibrant event themed “Mera Pakistan.” The event was held at the ISSI in Islamabad today. The participants paid rich tribute to the rich diversity, cultural heritage, and resilient spirit of the Pakistani people.

The active participation of ISSI Interns infused the event with youthful energy, creativity, and a strong belief in Pakistan’s progress and prosperity. The Interns presented short videos, delivered passionate speeches, and performed national songs. The videos showcased Pakistan’s diverse identity, highlighting the cultural richness of various regions across the country. The celebration also emphasized the vital role of women in the nation’s development and honored key figures who have shaped Pakistan’s history. Additionally, it was underscored that Independence Day serves as a reminder of the just struggle of the Kashmiri people, with Pakistan’s unwavering support for their right to self-determination.

The patriotic songs sung by the young Interns filled the atmosphere with unity and pride, and their performances were met with deep appreciation, reflecting the national spirit that defines Pakistan’s Independence Day celebrations.

In his address, ISSI Director General Ambassador Sohail Mahmood extended heartfelt congratulations on Pakistan’s Independence Day. He praised the Interns for their creative contributions and the meaningful content they produced. Ambassador Mahmood also provided a historical perspective on the Pakistan movement, particularly highlighting the role of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, Allama Mohammad Iqbal, and Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.

Ambassador Mahmood also stressed the importance of hope and resilience, highlighting Pakistan’s ability to overcome challenges and strive toward its full potential. He noted that Arshad Nadeem’s remarkable achievement at the Paris Olympics exemplifies this spirit, making the Independence Day celebrations even more significant.

The ISSI Independence Day celebration concluded with a renewed sense of patriotism and a collective resolve to contribute to Pakistan’s development in all areas. The event was a fitting tribute to the nation’s history and an optimistic look toward its future.
