JEDDAH: The Youth and Sports Department of the General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) convened a meeting with Nasser Al-Majali, Secretary-General of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF), at the OIC headquarters in Jeddah.
Dr. Amina Al Hajri, Director General of Cultural Affairs, and Dr. Maiga Boubakari, Head of the OIC Youth and Sports Department, were also present at the meeting.
During the discussion, Al-Majali presented an overview of the ISSF’s ten-year plan for 2023-2033, highlighting his efforts to align with OIC goals and implementation of the resolutions issued by the Islamic Conference of Youth and Sports Ministers. The upcoming hosting of the sixth session of the Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh in November-December 2025 was emphasized as a starting point for implementing the plan.

Al-Majali emphasized the vital role of the OIC, expressing the ISSF’s keen interest in strengthening coordination within the framework of the ten-year plan. He acknowledged the OIC as the umbrella organization for various OIC institutions and agencies.
Dr. Al-Hajri underscored the ISSF’s commitment to implementing the ten-year plan and its significant role in promoting Islamic values through sports. Emphasizing the consolidation of tolerant values among the youth, she highlighted the alignment of these efforts with the OIC’s objectives. Dr. Al-Hajri affirmed the OIC’s continued cooperation with the ISSF, emphasizing increased coordination to fulfill the aspirations of both entities.
