Israel’s Year-long Onslaught on Gaza Brings Widespread Destruction

GAZA:  Israel’s year-long attack on the Gaza Strip has caused massive human and material losses.

According to Palestinian media office in Gaza that the Israeli military has committed more than 3,650 massacres over the last year.

It said that over 41,800 people have been killed and more than 96,800 wounded, while 10,000 people are still missing or presumed dead under the rubble in the Gaza Strip.

According to data and media reports, the bodies of about 520 Palestinians have been recovered from seven mass graves found at hospitals. The data showed that kids make up around 42 percent of the deceased, women account for about 27 percent and men for 31 percent.

Kids have borne most of the brunt of the Israeli strikes, with 171 newborns dying moments following birth and 710 infants under one year old killed. Reports said that about 25,973 kids lost one or both parents.

UN Laments ‘One year of unimaginable suffering’ in Gaza

The UN’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has called on global leaders to bring an end to the suffering in the region on the anniversary of Hamas’s surprise attack on Israel.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah has said that it launched a salvo of Fadi 1 missiles at the Carmel base, south of Haifa, and conducted a rocket assault on the Nimra base, west of Tiberias.  According to Al-Jazeera strike on Haifa was its 18th assault on Israeli positions on Sunday, while the one on Tiberias marked its first attack today. Israeli media reported that at least eleven people have been injured in the Hezbollah attack.

Tens of thousands of Moroccans have staged a protest demonstration in Rabat on Sunday in support of Palestinians and against the Israeli military offensive in Gaza in eve of October 7 attack anniversary.  The protestors gathered near Morocco’s parliament and waved Palestinian flags, amid chants of “Resistance does not die”.
