JERUSALEM: Israeli warplanes have bombed several military sites belonging to Hamas and Islamic Jihad in different areas of the Gaza Strip from midnight until the early hours of Friday morning.
The Israeli bombardment also targeted agricultural and open areas, in addition to watchtowers on the eastern border.
The Israeli media, quoting security sources, reported that about 44 rockets were fired from Gaza during the night.
In recent days, there has been an escalation of tensions between Israel and Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip.
The conflict began when missiles were fired from Gaza towards Israeli towns, prompting Israeli retaliation in the form of bombing Palestinian sites.
While the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported no injuries, there was significant damage to homes and properties, as well as the Al-Durra Children’s Hospital.
Residents in Gaza reported feeling terror and fear throughout the night as the sound of bombs and warplanes filled the air. Islamic Jihad has threatened to continue firing rockets into Israeli cities as long as Israel continues to attack the Gaza Strip.
Israeli forces’ violence in Al-Aqsa Mosque
On the other hand, Hamas is holding Israel responsible for escalating tensions due to the recent attacks on Palestinian worshippers at Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.
The situation has become increasingly volatile, with both sides threatening retaliation. The international community has called for restraint and urged both sides to prevent further violence.
However, the continued violations against Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque are likely to provoke a larger and unexpected reaction from the resistance. As tensions escalate, it remains to be seen how the conflict will be resolved.
