NABLUS: In a recent incident in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, Israeli troops killed three Palestinians, the Palestinian health ministry reported.

The identities of the deceased Palestinians are yet to be known. According to the Israeli army, the incident took place when three “armed terrorists” opened gunfire on the soldiers from a vehicle in a Nablus neighbourhood. In response to the ‘imminent threat’, the troops took the action.

This unfortunate event is an addition to the escalation of violence that has gripped the occupied West Bank in recent times. The region, which has been under Israeli occupation since the Six-Day War of 1967, has been grappling with a series of attacks and incidents of unrest since early last year.

The latest encounter serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing tensions and complexities that continue to define the situation in the region. Such incidents underscore the challenges faced by both Israeli security forces and Palestinian communities, further deepening the need for a comprehensive and lasting resolution to the long-standing conflict.
