RAMALLAH: Israeli forces shot and killed four more Palestinian civilians in the Al-Fara refugee camp near Tubas in the West Bank on Monday, according to the Palestinian health ministry. The victims were identified as Mohammad Samir Milhem (17), his brother Hikmat (24), Yazan Khatib (20), and Rashed Habib al-Aydi (17), all fatally shot, with the first three being struck in the head, and al-Aydi shot in the chest.
The incident brings the total number of Palestinian civilians killed in the West Bank amidst the ongoing Gaza violence to 301, according to Gaza health officials. The Israeli army has not yet responded to requests for comment on the recent events.
Earlier this month, Israeli forces conducted a raid on the same refugee camp, resulting in the deaths of at least six Palestinians, including a 14-year-old boy. At that time, the Israeli army confirmed it as a “counter-terrorism” operation.
Over 19,000 Palestinians Killed in Israeli Bombardments in Gaza
In a separate incident on Monday, a 27-year-old Palestinian woman sustained injuries from a shooting towards a car north of Ramallah. Traveling with a man and a one-month-old baby near the Ateret settlement, she was taken to the hospital in serious condition, the Magen David Adom emergency medical services reported.
Violence in the West Bank, occupied by Israel since 1967, has escalated since the outbreak of the war in Gaza. The health ministry in Gaza reported that Israeli bombardments in Gaza has now killed more than 19,000 Palestinian people, mostly women and children.
