Israeli Troops Kill 3 Palestinians in West Bank
Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh had announced the submission of his government’s resignation to President Mahmud Abbas amid heightened tensions and shifting realities, particularly in the aftermath of the conflict in the Gaza Strip and escalating violence in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem.
Shtayyeh disclosed that he had tendered his resignation last Tuesday but formalized the process by submitting it “in writing” on Monday. President Abbas has faced mounting criticism and pressure for his response to the Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip, with many expressing dissatisfactions over what they perceive as inadequate condemnation of Israeli acts and a failure to address the escalating violence in Palestinian territories.
