DEIR AL-BALAH: The Lebanese army on Sunday said that an Israeli strike on a military vehicle in southern Lebanon killed three of its soldiers.
However, there was no immediate comment from the Israeli military on the recent strike.
Lebanon’s army has kept away from the conflict between Israel and the Hezbollah group. The military is a respected institution in Lebanon but cannot impose its will on Hezbollah or defend the country from an Israeli invasion.
Israel launched heavy strikes across southern Lebanon and Gaza on Sunday after Hezbollah fired a rocket barrage targeting an Israeli army base east of the northern town of Safed.
