ISLAMABAD: According to the Palestinian health ministry, Israeli soldiers shot dead a Palestinian teenager during a raid in the occupied West Bank’s Nablus on Tuesday. The Israeli army claimed that the 17-year-old had fired at the troops.
As per the ministry statement, Hamza Amjad al-Ashqar was killed after being fired in the face by occupation (Israeli) armed forces personnel.
In its claim, the Israeli army stated that soldiers had responded by means of live fire after being targeted by the armed suspect.

It further stated that the soldiers had identified a hit as the incursion was being conducted. During the attack, explosive devices, rocks, and Molotov cocktails were hurled at the troops.
According to a source associated with the Palestinians, Ashqar was a resident of the Askar camp for camp, which is located in Nablus. A total of three people were arrested.
In response to a media query, an Israeli army spokesman was unable to immediately tell what type of weapon the suspect had fired.
None of the Palestinian armed groups immediately claimed the deceased Ashqar to be a member of their group.
