JERUSALEM: Amnesty International said on Tuesday that Israeli restrictions against flying the Palestinian flag are a shameless act to legitimize racism. Amnesty International called the new restrictions repressive and an attack on the rights to freedom of expression, nationality, and freedom of peaceful assembly.
Amnesty International and Freedom of Expression
World constitutions and United Nations guarantee the rights of freedom of expression, and freedom of peaceful assembly. Amnesty said that the restriction comes amid a string of actions designed to silence dissent and curb protests, including those held in defense of the rights of Palestinians.
The statement further added that the ridiculous pretexts for this measure cannot cover the fact that Israel is growing increasingly ruthless in their attempts to silence the voices of Palestinians.
